Provenance of children:
I believe John had a first wife, and had Mary 1866, Ida 1868, George 1872, and Dora 1875 with her.
His second wife, Sarah McDowell, had two prior children also: Bertie Gibson 1872, and Joseph Gibson 1874.
Those two are noted as stepsons to John in the 1880 Census.
I believe Lula (or Nellie?) is the first child of John and Sarah together.
