Existence deduced from reference about Elizabeth "Bessie" Rutledge, spouse. Since she is the mother of "Capt Johnson of St Louis", she must have married a Johnson at some point.

This does not necessarily imply that Elizabeth ever lived in St Louis or emigrated from Ireland, although it remains possible.
