General Information
"Sawtelle, in his "The Gilley Family of Mt. Desert Island", misstates the ancestry of Hannah's father Jacob Lurvey. He indicates that this Jacob must have died because another Jacob was born on 26 May 1745, and that therefore, Samuel must have been Jacob's father (?). However, this individul is named James, not Jacob in the records, and, further, this James died within a year of his birth. Jacob did not die and he is the most likely individual to have been the parent of Jacob.

"Moreover, Sawtelle missed a generation as it was Jacob's son Jacob who married Hannah Boynton.

"Jacob appears on a Revolutionary war muster roll of Capt. Daniel Warner's company stationed at Gloucester 19 July to 31 December 1775 as a private in defense of the seacoast. He is also listed on the muster roll of Captain Jonathan Dodge's Company, Col. Jacob Gerrish's Regiment dated 1 April 1778 for services from April to July of that year."
