Served as a Private in the 23rd Infantry Regiment. He was injured September 11, 1944 in France, hospitalized in England and returned to active service. He was wounded in action in December was hospitalized in England and returned to the front December 28, 1944. He was later killed in action and posthumously awarded the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Clusters.
